Abbie Hoffman to Leave Prison on Work Release
After more than a month in state prison the convicted cocaine peddler and former Yippie leader Abbie Hoffman will exit on a work release. He is transferred to a minimum security facility in Manhattan for day jobs and weekend furloughs under a “community based” program. Hoffman was convicted in January of criminal sale of a dangerous drug and began serving a one to three year sentence on April 21.
