Federal court to hear toxic dump case in Midland
A federal district court in Midland will hear Waste Control Specialists versus Envirocare of Utah and Envirocare of Texas over antitrust claims. Judge Lucius D. Bunton retained federal jurisdiction, ruling the case raises federal issues about a nationwide monopoly in low level radioactive and mixed waste disposal. WCS seeks authorization to bid for handling such wastes at the Andrews site and to obtain DOE approval to accept them.
