Lawmaker chided for childlike behavior in DWI case
State Rep. Joe Gamez received two years probation after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated from a January accident. Judge Keith Burris criticized him for hiding in the Legislature hallways and bathroom while missing court appearances. The Democrat was fined 500 dollars and ordered to pay 2200 dollars to a probation officer as civil actions proceed.
