Marine Eric Alva Walks Again With High Tech Prosthetic
San Antonio Marine Staff Sgt. Eric Alva, who lost his right leg to a land mine in Iraq, is learning to walk again at HealthSouth AIDSA with a titanium C-Leg prosthesis and intensive physical therapy. He underwent eight surgeries, received a $50,000 prosthetic, and aims to drive, run, and later work as a physical therapist. Alva, 32, is determined to make San Antonio his home after years of serving abroad.
