Profile of Chris Kyle the American Sniper

Christopher Scott Kyle, a U S Navy SEAL and Iraq War veteran, was famed as the most lethal sniper with 160 confirmed kills. His longest shot reached 2100 yards during missions in Fallujah and Ramadi. Born in Odessa, he grew up in Midlothian, Texas, after a stint in Odessa with his father at Southwestern Bell. Kyle and Chad Littlefield were killed in February 2013 by a troubled veteran he and Littlefield were trying to help. His funeral reportedly drew Texas’s longest procession, and his 2012 memoir inspired Clint Eastwood’s film American Sniper.
