Crossing open road near closed tracks leads to wrecks
A 28 year old man was injured when his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was struck by an eastbound train near the closed Cargo Road crossing. Ortiz said he tried to cross after leaving Jaguar's Gold Club, going around barricades. Union Pacific spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza-Williams warned drivers to use active crossings only, noting multiple past collisions and ongoing dangers from alcohol and late night crossings.

Five people transported after Faudree Road crash
A two vehicle crash on Faudree Road late Sunday left five people injured and taken to Medical Center Hospital. Tony Huu Nguyen admitted to running a stop sign while talking on his cell phone and watching a gas station. Castillo, Camacho, Garrett, and Hernandez were treated at MCH. Nguyen received a citation for disregarding a stop sign.
