Lighting near miss at San Francisco airport sparks probe
Investigators will query Air Canada pilots after a near collision with grounded planes at San Francisco International. The 140 onboard faced a 100 foot gap as a taxiway mix up and runway lights confusion nearly caused a crash. Safety experts say glide slope and cockpit automation should have prevented the error. NTSB teams will review flight data and cockpit voice recordings to determine how crew and controllers acted under uncertainty.
