Police free Bolivian president after hostage bid
LA PAZ Bolivia AP Right wing military officers kidnapped President Hernan Siles Zuazo in a bid to trigger a coup. After 15 minutes of negotiations at a La Paz warehouse authorities freed him unharmed ten hours after he was taken from the presidential palace. Six captors were named and up to 60 security forces may have been involved. The six captors were turned over to the Argentine Embassy. Seven officers sought sanctuary in the Venezuelan Embassy.
