Israeli mayor and council members jailed in Beit Jalla assault case
An Israeli military court sentenced Beit Jalla mayor Daoud Meshara to six months in jail and three town council members to three months each for attacking police officers who entered a cafe in Beit Jalla in August. All four were fined 560 dollars. The case stems from police action in the occupied West Bank city near Bethlehem.
