Odessa Man Charged After DUI Crash Kills Child
Odessa man Hector Manuel Gutierrez 29 was arrested on charges including injury to a child after a July 7 crash at University Boulevard and Tripp Avenue. He along with his wife were found with marijuana and prescription drugs in the SUV, and a 3-year-old daughter was in the car. Gutierrez reportedly drove off an intersection at 120 mph without brakes, cabin airbag collapsed, and a $91 cash slip plus marijuana were found. The couple's other children later confronted them attempting to join the vehicle.

A 29-year-old Midland man died when a northbound pickup failed to pass another vehicle on State Highway 17 south of Pecos and collided with a Ford Hybrid. Derrick Broaddus of Amarillo was in critical condition at Odessa Regional Medical Center. No Ford Hybrid occupants injured. Both men were not wearing seat belts.

No arrests after Pagewood Ave stabbings in Odessa
Two men Christopher Gonzales and Matthew Gilbert Rangel were stabbed at a home in the 2700 block of Pagewood Ave. Both were treated at Medical Center Hospital. Police say 3-4 suspects are being questioned after more than 11 people were detained. The SWAT team was deployed but entered without force as residents came out. Investigation focuses on linking house occupants to the crime and potential drugs involvement remains undetermined.

Odessa Man Hurt After Motorcycle Crash on East Eighth Street
An Odessa man William A Herrera was transported to Medical Center Hospital after a motorcycle and two westbound cars collision on East Eighth Street at 553 PM Monday. Herrera fell from his Harley Davidson, struck a silver Silverado and a Heritage High Roof van as investigators review whether he collided with the Silverado. Drivers of the Chevrolets were unharmed. Herrera remained in fair condition Monday night in the hospital ER.
