Concert to honor Buddy Holly in Clear Lake
A memorial concert in Clear Lake will honor Buddy Holly, the rock pioneer who died in the 1959 plane crash near town. The event follows his Surf Ballroom appearance and will feature Holly’s colleagues and local broadcaster Darryl Hensley known as “The Mad Hatter.” The Buddy Holly Memorial Society promotes the tribute and an earlier tea party event on February 6 with radio figures from KZEV and Bill Griggs of Wethersfield Conn.
