Enron Spent 1.8 Million on State and Federal Politicians
The Associated Press reports that Enron and top executives funded politicians nationwide, with at least 1.8 million in state-level contributions since 1997. Texas California Florida and Oregon received the largest amounts. Ken Lay headed the drive, with 98 percent of trackable 2000 contributions aiding winning candidates and a 55 45 split between Republicans and Democrats.
