Nailed Down band from Andrews blends praise with rock
Nailed Down, a four member Andrews High School group from Means Memorial United Methodist Church, plays rock and alternative praise music. Drummer Darrell Blakeney and lead vocalist Nathan Tompkins, both 17, form the core with Zach James and Ethan Huckaby, rehearsing two to three times weekly and writing original songs.

National auditions announced for Texas musical season
The Texas musical drama enters its 37th season with eight nationwide auditions to cast 120 performers, technicians, and staff for the Pioneer Amphitheater in Palo Duro Canyon. Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation notes the outdoor show is the nation’s most attended, with over 3 million visitors. Artistic director Lynn Hart, formerly with Disney, spearheads the new national search and concept driven by diversifying the cast to reflect Panhandle Plains cattlemen, American Indian, and early settler themes.
