Man injured in explosion still hospitalized
A man seriously injured in an explosion likely due to a gas leak was upgraded to serious condition at the University Medical Center burn unit in Lubbock. Firefighters found Janice Boney, 55, dead in the wreckage 14 miles west of Grover while John Boney, 61, was outside the home.

Abilene Woman Indicted in Heat Deaths of Two Children
Tina Marie Wright faces two counts of injury to a child after the bodies of Dylan Nagel and Kelly Boisjolie were found in the trunk of her car in August. The two children, aged 4 and 6, were inside the trunk for more than nine hours in Abilene's 100 degree heat, and were not reported missing. A Taylor County grand jury issued the indictment.

Toxic algae blamed for fish kill at Possum Kingdom Lake
Texas Parks and Wildlife biologist links a golden algae bloom to a mass fish die off at Possum Kingdom Lake. The single celled organism Prymnesium parvum is identified as the cause with 90 percent of the fatalities being freshwater drum and gizzard shad.
