Grief deepens for children of World Trade Center victims
In New Jersey and New York bereavement camps, children who lost a parent in the September 11 attacks share memories and fears. Cantor Fitzgerald estimates over 1,300 affected kids. FDNY losses left more than 600 children without a parent. Camp founder Lynne Hughes notes peer support helps, as youths express longing, fear, and moments of insight about their lost caregivers.
