Odessa King Day events honor Civil Rights legacy
On Martin Luther King Jr Day a 6 a.m breakfast at Odessa Regional Medical Center followed by a 9 a.m. declamation at Southside Senior Center featured readings of I Have a Dream and a speech by Renee Morris honoring African American women. Dozens braved freezing weather as students and community members joined a Freedom March to Woodson Park with songs like We Shall Overcome.
