Black Hawk Down film review eyes dark Somalia raid
The piece portrays Ridley Scott s Black Hawk Down as a sober unflinching war drama about the Mogadishu raid of 1993. It notes the mission aimed to kidnap warlords but devolved into a 15 hour street battle with 18 American dead and 73 wounded while Somali casualties are downplayed. The review lauds the director s urgent somber tone and Hartnett Isaacs Sizemore performances.
