Hobbs man charged with aggravated kidnapping
A 50-year-old Hobbs man, Anthony Lynn Evans, was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping while already jailed on another offense at Lea County Detention Center. The affidavit alleges Evans abducted his estranged wife after a restaurant meeting on October 22, striking her and threatening death, then eluding officers before releasing her at a restaurant.

Helicopter lands safely as pilot found dead in park
A private helicopter made a safe landing at Mineral Wells State Park in Parker County North Texas before the pilot was found dead in the cockpit.
