Republican Mathews files for Ector County justice seat

Donald W. Mathews, owner of the Mikendon Company in West Odessa for 15 years, announces a bid on the GOP ticket for Precinct 4 justice of the peace. He will face Boyd Atkins in the March 8 primary and vows to study facts before decisions, use first-time offender fines for community service, and bring accountability to the county court system. Mathews, 47, longtime Ector County resident and Navy veteran, lives with wife Marcia at 4596 W Fight and has two children Heather and Daniel.

Robbery reported at Odessa fuel station

Odessa Police said Sandra Flores was robbed at Central Fuel Inc located at 1410 E Second St around 4 10 p m on Wednesday. A 30 year old white male about 5 8 inches tall and 145 pounds with blond hair was described as suspect. The incident is under aggravated robbery investigation.

Sexual Assault Report Near East Odessa

An Odessa woman was forced to perform a sexual act in East Odessa at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The alleged suspect is a 30-year-old man. investigation as a sexual assault, a felony, continues. Police also report several vehicle thefts and burglaries with multiple victims and values listed, including a 1991 Nissan Hardbody, a 1988 GMC Suburban, and a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro, plus thefts of air packs, jewelry, and electronics in various Odessa area blocks.

Pretrial and post trial monitoring programs in Ector County

Ector County has operated a pretrial monitoring program since June 1992 with 32 participants and a post trial home detention program begun in June 1993 using electronic ankle bracelets. Offenders cited include Joe Daniel Boisse 18 charged with capital murder after leaving home confinement amid a shooting that killed Ronnie James Olvera 32. Boisse is the only person charged with a crime while under supervision. others faced violations of program terms. Programs aim to ease jail crowding, with bond revocation as a primary enforcement tool.

Bivins Returns 150000 To Campaign Contributors
