Gun violence play by Houston students spurs call for action
Houston students from Yates High School staged Gun Violence the New Normal at the University of Houston to highlight the surge in U S gun deaths amid a Brennan Center report. The production linked three fifths of national murders to Baltimore Chicago and Houston and urged lawmakers to curb gun access while recalling local losses including Daquarius and Demarcus Tucker. Mothers from Village of Mothers attended as lawmakers planned to lobby in January urging stronger gun safety measures.
