Shannay gado, 19, of 1306 Andrews, was arrested January 1 at Graham's Central Station on charges of possession of cocaine a state jail felony and public intoxication a class C misdemeanor. She is held at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on a $7500 bond.
An Odessa man was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on his third DWI charge and released January 3 on a 25000 dollar bond. A second subject, Monica Murillo Gonzalez, 32, 718 Snyder, Odessa, faced cocaine possession and a parole violation felony warrant with no bond. Stephens had two metal smoking pipes and Brillo found during arrest and received citations for drug paraphernalia possession along with no proof of insurance and no license plate light per the release.
Ruben Sujan Salgado, 41, of Monahans, was arrested at 1 p.m. on a third or greater DWI charge, a third degree felony, at Fifth Street and Dixie Route. Odessa Police also reported two fugitives were caught.
Manuel Ontiveros, 25, and Karina Hernandez, 20, were arrested after Ontiveros evaded officers. Ontiveros faces charges including possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear on a warrant, evading arrest, false identification, and related offenses. Hernandez is charged with hindering apprehension. Ontiveros held on $52,000 bond, Hernandez released on $15,000 bond.
Odessa Police arrest Benjamin Herrera, 57, and Abel Herrera, 34, after a New Year’s Eve shooting near Linda Avenue. Benjamin faces two counts of aggravated assault and evidence tampering. Abel is charged with tampering with evidence. Bond set at 65,000 and 15,000 respectively. No injuries reported.
Deputies respond to a welfare check in Gardendale where a woman died of natural causes. Odessa Police arrest Danny Camarillo on a second degree sexual assault charge. he is jailed on a 50,000 dollar bond. Two juveniles are charged with burglary of a habitation after a Miles Street break in. they’re held at the Youth Center. A separate note mentions aggravated assault counts against a man related to an armed entry incident. Online jail records list a 31 year old Casey held on 500,000 bond with no attorney listed.
Odessa police report fourteen DWI arrests on New Year s Eve and Day with total weekend arrests 19. Spokesman Cpl Steve LeSueur notes the no refusal policy lets officers seek blood warrants when suspects refuse breath tests. He cites 2015 total of 669 DWI arrests and 98 with warrants.
