Runaway Balloon Injury Drops Bowmaster at El Paso Festival
Odessan Thomas Bowmaster, 24, was injured when a rope anchor on a hot air balloon broke and struck him behind the right ear while assisting inflation. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as winds dragged the balloon. he was treated for contusions at Medical Center Hospital. The balloon, owned by Scott Wisniewski of El Paso, was to ascend at Schiemeyer Field for a balloon festival, which was canceled due to high winds.
