Cookies cost 125 per family box and troops keep 15 cents per package. Top sellers earn patches, currency, and prizes. profits fund two resident camps and troop services.
The witness says KenDavis Industries runs 84 companies with 12 000 to 13 000 employees and 1978 sales of 1 384 000 000 with 48 million net income. A 350 million loan was negotiated in 1978 to consolidate debts as mistrial freed him in Houston after five months in jail.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with 750 gallons of water, injuring a left hand during evacuation.
The National Weather Service at Midland reports chances of rain Friday and a cooler Saturday in the Permian Basin. Tonight and Thursday will be warm and partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s and a Tuesday high of 70 degrees. Tonight’s low is expected in the mid 40s, up from this morning’s 42. Saturday’s highs should stay in the 50s with a warming trend by Sunday. A record high of 85 was set Tuesday in 1972 and today’s record low of 16 dates back to 1939.

Republican presidential hopeful John Connally and his wife Nellie will attend a 2 pm Friday coffee at the Inn of the Golden West as part of a West Texas tour that includes a Midland luncheon and stops in Abilene and Brownwood. Tickets for the Midland luncheon are $10, with reservations by mail. The stop sequence also lists an Odessa coffee, El Paso reception, and a Houston birthday event.
Odessa police arrested a man Tuesday at his residence on a charge of damaging Clifford Aldredge's car in the 940 block of Vine Street on Oct 1, 1978. Aldredge reported more than 500 dollars in damage after another car struck his vehicle. Bond was set by Odessa Municipal Court Judge Otis Moore.
