Snow Delays Kidnappers Note In Coors Case
Snow blankets Golden Colorado as police and family pursue a possible kidnapping of Adolph Coors III. The 44 year old industrialist disappeared February 9 while traveling from his home toward the brewery and porcelain plant he heads. His station wagon with motor running was found near his house as ransom talks are thought delayed by bad weather.

Four petty thefts were under investigation Saturday involving a coat hubcaps and bicycles. Talbert R. Jackson of 212 South Jackson reported a brown suit coat stolen from Cookie's Cafe at 114 East Second containing a watch and feather gloves. J W Maynard of 413 West Eighth reported four hubcaps stolen from a parked car. Bicycles were reported missing by Mrs. H. E. Broyles of 1120 Terry and Raymond Lee Hightower of 1003 South Crane.

Houston Firm's President Dies After Attack
Jewel Benson aged 60, president of the Benson Tract Co. of Houston, died Friday night after entering a hospital following a sudden illness. Benson had recently been elected president of the Associated Equipment Distributors, a national trade association.

Funeral services for Mrs Callie May Goodson aged 52 will be held Monday at 2 30 p m in Rix Mahan Chapel of the Roses with Rev Ed Welch of Kingston Baptist Church officiating. Burial follows in Sunset Memorial Gardens. She died Friday evening at Medical Center Hospital after a long illness. Born May 22 1907 in Van Texas she had lived in Odessa nine years. Survivors include her husband Henry four daughters Peggy Doris Kathy and the four others at 312 East 38th two sons Larry and Gary at 312 East 38th two sisters Boyce McDow of Houston and Allie Martin of Van three brothers Milton Gilley Charlie Gilley both of Van and Bob Gilley of Tyler and one grandson.

Pair Of Firemen Slightly Hurt In Odessa Blaze
Two Odessa firemen, Travis Kuykendall and Sam Phillips, suffered minor burns while battling a Vernon Camp home fire at 5203 McKnight. A cigarette was blamed for starting the blaze that destroyed a couch, chair, and two end tables, burned a rug, and caused heavy heat and smoke damage. Additional trash and grass fires in Country Club Estates and in the 3200 block of West Second were extinguished with no damage reported.

Burglars Take About $12 From South Odessa Tavern
Detectives said burglars pried a padlock from the rear door of the Veteran's Club at 712 Magnolia. A screwdriver opened a juke box containing the cash, with about $12 taken.

Hospital Treats Mishap Victims
Two Odessa workers were admitted to Medical Center Hospital Saturday night after separate mishaps. Billy Ables, 27, of D and H Motel, Andrews Highway, suffered first and second degree burns on his left leg and foot from a paint thinner spill. Dan Davis, 26, of 4100 North Golder, a rig operator, was treated for a broken left leg after jumping from 4 kg while working near Rankin.

Midland Suspect Held In Odessa For Forgery Charge
A 21 year old Midland man, Willie Joe Blaylock, was jailed in Ector County on a forgery and passing charge. He was arrested in Kermit and brought to Odessa to face accusations of cashing a forged 85 dollar check at Levine's Department Store on North Grant.

Rites Pending for James Early at Hubbard Funeral Home
Funeral arrangements were pending Saturday for James Early of 312 East Pearl at Hubbard Funeral Home. Early died Friday at Medical Center Hospital after about two weeks of illness. Early's wife was believed to be visiting in Waco and had not been located by Saturday.

Final services for Elmo Clyde Brooks 50 of 3700 Travis are set for 3 p.m. at Rix Mahan Chapel of the Roses with Rev. David Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Brooks died Saturday morning at home after a heart attack. He was born September 21 1909 in Gatesville and had lived in Odessa since 1956 after moving from Brownwood. He was a self employed refrigeration serviceman, a Shriner and a member of Masonic Fellowship Lodge 1386. Survivors include his wife Lorraine an elementary school teacher three sons a daughter and several relatives.
