Amoco infill drilling to add over 100 jobs near Odessa
Amoco plans an 82 well infill drilling project in the North Cowden Unit north west of Odessa. Six rigs will operate for about three months, with Cactus Drilling V&B Drilling and TMBR Sharp each providing two rigs and about 34 workers per company. The project includes 50 production wells and 32 water injection wells across 21 251 acre area in Ector County. Amoco operates the field with a 62.4 percent working interest and says costs total 23 5 million. Prices have risen from 15 to around 18 dollars per barrel since December.

Webb says women ruin military academies in 1979 article
Assistant Secretary of Defense James H. Webb, Reagan’s pick for Navy secretary, wrote in The Washingtonian that women poison the training of men for combat at service academies. Avalanche strands skiers on Peak Seven near Breckenridge
In Breckenridge Colorado rescuers dug out one body from fresh snow after an avalanche on Peak Seven in Arapahoe National Forest. The out of bounds run, unpatrolled and marked dangerous, left a 40 foot fissure and a half mile slide. As many as five more skiers are feared buried as 150 rescuers searched through night.
