A Labor Department study shows Midland earned 21 171 dollars average annual pay in 1982, ranking third behind Anchorage and Flint. Hundreds of Lebanese Christians flee advancing Moslem militiamen and pour toward Israeli lines, taking cars and belongings toward the Israeli controlled zone in southern Lebanon. By Friday about 15,000 Lebanese have crossed into Israeli territory as Druse and Shiite rebels push toward Beirut.
