First United Methodist Church hosts an Ash Wednesday Outreach from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Noél Heritage Plaza 321 W Fifth St. People may stop by outside to receive ashes and a prayer and are directed to a short URL for more details.
National Weather Service Midland reports 5.3 inches of snow with higher totals in Odessa and lighter amounts in Midland. Arctic air keeps temperatures in the teens to 20s with a mid 30s forecast warming, then back to freezing. A midweek system may bring rain and snow with lingering bad roads. Weekend warmth rising to 60s, 70s by Monday. Basin records show historic cold and 30 year wind chill lows.
