Cold front ends warm spell across Permian Basin
A strong cold front moves into Texas this afternoon bringing a sharp drop in temperatures tonight into the 20s. Friday highs will be in the upper 30s with a chance of rain or rain mixed with snow into Saturday, followed by a rebound to the 60s by Monday. Overnight lows will stay in the 20s through the weekend across the Basin.

California man gets 100 days in jail

Hobbs man testifies in McKay murder trial
Hobbs resident David Barcheers testified he shot Donnie Lynn McKay in self defense during a hunting night near Barcheers Humble City trailer. McKay's burned body was found in a pickup five miles east of the Texas New Mexico line. Barcheers, 29, faced first degree murder charges in the 1978 killing. Ricky Williams testified Barcheers warned he might have to knock McKay off. Williams is jailed for tampering with evidence in the case. The trial proceeded before Judge Ruben Nieves.

Woman Granted Probated Five Year Sentence in Meth Case
