Police charged 18 year old Charles Jack Stewart of Dallas and 18 year old Ted Allen Smith of Garland with assault with intent to murder after they attacked oil engineer Elmer C Heath 44 in a restaurant sighting him and his wife. Heath lost one eye and doctors fear losing the other. Heath identified the suspects who were released on writs of habeas corpus before charges were filed.

In Holbrook Arizona on February 13 former carnival owner J Folk was found guilty of first degree murder in the torture slaying of a 22 year old Pennsylvania mother Betty Faye Allen. The jury sentenced Folk to death in the Arizona gas chamber after one hour and twenty two minutes of deliberation. Folk admitted being with the victims during the seven hours they were bound before the killing. The couple’s 10 month old son Lawrence slept through the night.

Marooned Students Enjoy Snowbound Sleepover at Rural School

Seven Killed In California Auto Accident
Seven people died and another was critically injured when an auto carrying six Fort Ord soldiers collided with a northbound car on Bayshore highway near Palo Alto.
