Odessan Gene Cody Dies Rites Pending
Odessan Gene Cody 58 of 1021 West 15th died 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Medical Center Hospital after illness following a fishing trip to Falcon Lake and Laredo. He was fire chief of the Odessa volunteer fire department and long an Ector County commissioner. Cody founded Cody and Teague in 1945, a firm handling sales, trucking and oilfield services on the Kemic Highway. He is survived by his widow Pat Anderson Cody, a daughter Dorothy Ferguson of Twin Falls Idaho, a son? and siblings. Funeral arrangements are pending at Hubbard Funeral Home.

Odessa man pleads guilty in burglary case and jailbreak
Lovell Scotty Logsdon, 26, of Odessa, pleads guilty to burglary charges and draws sentences of 12 and 15 years. He and J A Avery Jr. escaped from custody on November 19, were captured in Dallas ten days later. Avery wounded and in Dallas County jail. Logsdon also faces burglary charges in Midland.

Funeral services for Arthur Price 57 will be held at 2 pm Friday at the First Christian Church in Amarillo. Price died Wednesday after a long illness. He was a student of the Texange Christian University Chorale and worked for Price Supply Co. of Odessa. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. The chorale group of 28 singers on tour of West Texas will perform Friday night at the service.
