Small oil company owner Ernest Angelo of Everstar Resources in Lubbock says any reduction helps in the current oil crisis. A bill by Sen. J.E. "Buster" Brown would exempt small oil producers from the severance tax when crude falls below 15 dollars a barrel and gas producers under 1.80 dollars per thousand cubic feet. Angelo notes the move may ease costs but won’t work miracles.
