An Odessa man, Jimmy McKelvy, age unknown, was sentenced to two years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty in 143rd District Court in Monahans to burglary. He last lived at 7401 Andrews Highway Odessa and was awaiting transfer to prison in Ward County Jail. McKelvy changed from a not guilty plea to guilty at the last moment before Judge J. H. A crash five miles north of Covington Louisiana with a butane gas truck and a St Tammany Parish School bus left three dead and 23 injured all on board including 36 passengers. Bus driver Nina Mae Revere 47 and pupils Sylvia Jenkins 7 Christopher Leehans 6 died. truck driver Jesse Shirley 31 from Mobile cited brake jackknife after headlights pulled from behind the bus. Mrs Jenkins rushed to the scene to rescue her dying daughter.
