Midland Man Dies In Crash
Isaac Terry Griffin aged 42 of 203 West Indiana Street Midland was killed in a Saturday night crash 28 miles west of Eunice New Mexico on the Eunice highway. His car left the road went out of control in a side curve skidded along the left fence line and overturned about six times. Griffin was killed instantly and the car demolished. Police in Midland listed him as a Yellow Cab dispatcher and said he had a daughter Pat in Midland. The body remained at Singleton Funeral Home with arrangements pending.

Funeral services were held for Eugene Brown Jr., a two year old burned to death in a house fire in Andrews. His sister Mary Jo, hurt with severe burns, was treated later at Permian General Hospital. Fire officials could not determine the fire origin as the one room home burned, leaving the family homeless. Surviving relatives include parents Eugene Brown Sr and the two children’s extended family in Andrews.

Andrews Girl 2 Drowned In Tank At Proctor Ranch
Marta Hughes a two year old girl died after apparently falling into a surface tank at the Proctor Ranch near Andrews. She was pronounced dead at Permian General Hospital at 6 30 p m. An inquest by Justice of Peace O G Weatherby is expected to shed light on the accidental drowning. The child played in the yard with her dog before the mishap. She was found in the tank by her mother and later taken to nearby homes and then to Andrews for revival attempts. She is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs Lewie Hughes and four grandparents.
