Odessa police said they have investigated a week of drive-bys likely tied to retaliation. From Saturday to Monday two drive-bys on Wabash Avenue and one on Carver Avenue shot at Crowder. Witnesses and victims did not cooperate, hindering arrest warrants. Family and Black leaders met with police on Wednesday and Thursday to raise concerns.
U S Army helicopter pilot Bobby Hall walked to freedom at Panmunjom after a 13 day crisis. Hall was released as Washington voiced regret over the incident and North Korea charged spying. His co pilot was killed. family in Brookville Fla cheered. President Clinton had personally pursued release.
