Handcrafted saddles to last a lifetime in Pecos workshop
Edge, a saddle maker near Pecos, builds one of a kind saddles with hand tooled leather and rose patterns. He starts with pine saddle trees, uses rawhide and leather pieces assembled by hand, charging about 1400 dollars for high end pieces and about 600 to 700 for mass market saddles. He crafts chaps and repair work too, finishing roughly a dozen saddles a year while valuing time and materials. his granddaughter Madison watches as he explains fit and longevity.
