Gold clause ruling upholds pre repeal contract ban
In Atlanta an appeals court held a landlord violated the gold clause ban that remained in effect for contracts active at repeal. Milton F. Steinhardt, owner of the Eastern Shores White House condo, tied rents to gold devaluations starting 1970. Tenants won lower court relief. the 11th Circuit affirmed, noting he struck gold but cannot keep it.
