Giant 40 foot cross lights up along Highway 19 on county line
A new unannounced monument rises on the south side of Highway 19 near the Midland Ector county line. The 40 foot Cypress cross with four granite slabs inscribed with Bible verses and the Ten Commandments sits beside a small lot. Built by Investment Corporation of America Properties led by John Bushman, the project was privately dedicated with no church affiliation. Bushman said he built it for the community and hoped it offers a beacon of hope beyond daily life.
