Bomer cuts TAIPA auto insurance rates for high risk drivers
Texas Insurance Commissioner Elton Bomer announced a 27.4 percent average reduction for TAIPA high risk drivers the first in three years. Rates for bodily injury liability drop 41.1 percent and personal injury protection and uninsured motorists fall about 32.1 percent while property damage liability rises 2 percent. The new rates take effect March 1 for drivers rejected by at least two insurers. about 80,000 Texans use TAIPA.

LAREDO AP An Arkansas murder suspect slipped into Mexico after a man hunt near Laredo. DPS spokesman Mike Cox said Mexican authorities are helping search for James Edward Tillis 30, wanted for the stabbing death of Alvin King 44 in West Helena. A trooper reported a man south of Austin trying to break into a vehicle and a person matching Tillis was tied to a pickup theft in Manchaca.

First female pilots drop bombs in Iraq attack mission
