PUC plan merges three Texas electric utilities
The Public Utilities Commission approved a plan to merge Dallas Power & Light Texas Power and Light and TESCO into the Texas Utilities Electric Co. The move creates the state's largest publicly owned electric utility and one of the nation's 10 biggest. Rates will stay similar with single rate cases after 1983, but some savings are not guaranteed for customers.
