Medical Insurance Costs for Needy Drop in Texas
Texas Public Welfare Commissioner Raymond W. Vowell said the state's Medicaid and health insurance costs for the needy will total about 30 million dollars less than planned. He attributed the drop to lower premiums secured through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, changes in the state program, and revised data processing and drug pricing arrangements affecting 678,000 recipients under Aid to Families with Dependent Children and related aids.
