Teacher Dees Builds Relationships Through Teaching and Mentoring
The Hood High School educator emphasizes personal connection with students even in lunch detention. He credits a UT-Permian Basin education for classroom management, notes class differences require adaptable styles, and highlights communication skills, face-to-face talk, and technology's impact on relationships. Hazel and Carla Garcia praise his approach as friendly and approachable. Dees, LA native, previously taught as a long-term substitute at Hood Junior High and joined OHS last year as an assistant under head coach Matthew Jackson.
