Sun Times sale to News America finalized

Field Enterprises announced a definitive agreement to sell the Chicago Sun Times and related holdings to Rupert Murdoch's News America Publishing for 90 million dollars. The deal, signed Monday, aims to close by January 9, with News America part of News Corporation Limited.

Mondale Holds Wide Lead In Washington Post Poll

A Washington Post ABC News poll of 404 registered Democrats shows Walter Mondale at 49 percent, with John Glenn 23 percent, Jesse Jackson 10 percent, George McGovern 8 percent, Alan Cranston 5 percent, Gary Hart 2 percent, Reubin Askew 1 percent, Ernest Hollings under 1 percent, and 2 percent for others. Reagan leads Mondale 48 to 47 when matched.
