Double victory for attorney in Henley and Cuevas cases
Texas Court of Criminal Appeals overturns two high profile murder convictions. Elmer Wayne Henley, 18 at the time, had six life terms for the 1973 Houston mass slayings with 27 victims. Ignacio Cuevas's death sentence for a hostage slaying during the 1974 Huntsville siege was overturned. The rulings send both cases back for retrial in San Antonio and Walker County respectively.
