The Wrestler Oscar nod to Randy Ram's fall and rise
The Ram Randy Robinson, played by Mickey Rourke, is a hideous yet endearing wrestling icon. Once a peroxide Adonis in the 1980s, he now shuffles through a New Jersey winter, working a supermarket stockroom by day and small time matches by night, struggling to pay rent. The Ram's grim life and fragile humanity evoke pity and unexpected affection.
