BreitBurn to buy oil and gas properties in Permian Basin
BreitBurn Energy Partners plans to spend 282 million dollars to acquire oil and natural gas properties in the Permian Basin. The seller is CrownRock of Midland. CEO Hal Washburn calls it an opportunistic bolt-on deal that adds high quality assets with substantial recoverable oil. The deal finances via borrowings under BreitBurn’s bank credit facility. The assets are expected to yield about 2900 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with 16.6 million barrels of proved reserves, roughly 93 producing wells and over 300 potential drilling locations.
