Investor buying three Nevada brothels sparks probe
An investment counselor named Sidney Binder says he is buying three legal brothels in Winnemucca Nevada for a group of investors including some from Orange County. The sale documents list Binder as purchaser though investors and legal fights loom amid a decade of lawsuits and a police probe.

King Statue Debate Moves Toward Capitol Approval
Washington AP A long delayed proposal to place a bust or statue of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr in the U S Capitol likely will be approved this month by Congress. Senate Rules Committee Chairman Charles Mathias Jr said passage looks very good after a House passage and a lame duck session review. Rep Jonathan Bingham pressed that King is an authentic American hero and the absence of black portraits in the Capitol reflects poorly on visitors. Opponent Rep Larry McDonald urged defeat, accusing King of violence, while Mathias noted a similar proposal stalled a decade ago. The final decision rests with the Joint Committee on the Library to select format and placement.
