Italian terrorists kill prison guards in Turin ambush
In Turin two prison guards, Salvatore Lanza and Salvatore Porceddu, both 21, were gunned down by a submachine gun as they sat in a van doing crossword puzzles. A red Fiat 127 carried out the attack claimed by the Red Brigades. Later in Florence an eviction prosecutor was shot and in Venice a banking official was wounded.
