Space crew's cold prompts possible NASA delay or substitute
Apollo flight crew may be delayed or replaced as one astronaut battles a severe cold. Earlier this month Frank Borman James Lovell and William Anders received inoculations against Hong Kong flu as did about 1200 Cape Kennedy personnel involved in launch preparations. NASA has a limited exposure program urging space workers with colds to stay away. The astronauts spent Sunday at church with Anders attending a private mass in Cocoa Beach and Borman at St. David's by the Sea Episcopal Church. Prayers were offered for the crew’s safety and safe return.

Court holds draft exemption cannot be forced by courts
The Supreme Court, in a Douglas opinion joined by Chief Justice Warren and Justices Black Fortas and Marshall, barred most challenges to 1-A draft classification. It said Congress allowed exemptions for under 19 year olds veterans National Guard and Reserves sole surviving sons and similar categories. Dissenters accused the majority of disregarding Selective Service law. The decision limits how registrants can contest classifications, allowing only refusal of induction or haebeas corpus routes.
