Homeless mother navigates school access for twins
Reeves and her four children have been homeless since July living in cars and shelters. ECISD and the McKinney Vento Act help keep the kids in their home school with bus transportation while Reeves seeks stable housing and previously faced pride, embarrassment, and family loss that intensified her situation. Community Outreach Center in Odessa coordinates resources as school officials track 820 identified homeless students this year, a 25 percent rise from last year.
