Former friend says shooter obsessed with guitarist's former band

In Columbus Ohio Nathan Gale the man who killed Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott and three others at a Damageplan concert was said by a former friend to be fixated on the band. Gale believed Pantera members stole his identity and song lyrics. He charged the stage and opened fire before being shot by a police officer. Investigators question motive and some witnesses report he accused the guitarist of breaking up Pantera.

Peterson jury ends second-day deliberations

Redwood City California jurors weighing life without parole or death for Scott Peterson wrapped up a second day of deliberations Friday without a verdict. They will be sequestered over the weekend and resume Monday. The judge noted the jury’s request to leave early after a hallway conference with both sides. Peterson, 32, was convicted November 12 of murder in the deaths of his wife Laci and her fetus. Prosecutors say he killed them around Christmas Eve 2002. Peterson maintains he was fishing. The jurors must decide between life without parole and the death penalty. While sequestered, they cannot watch television read newspapers or discuss the case.
